Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Baltimore Black Pride officials recognized the following individuals and organizations last week with its annual awards:
- Keith ?Ebony? Holt, a youth advocate, received an Icon award for his work in Baltimore City government on behalf of young black gay men and assisting them into HIV treatment.
- Lea Gilmore received an Icon award as a political activist/entertainer for being a straight ally in the black community who advocates on issues of marriage equality, social justice and women?s sexual health issues as well as recognizing her talents as a musical artist.
- Dale Guy Madison received the Chairman?s Award for his advocacy work in Baltimore with the Men of Color HIV/AIDS Prevention Program, formerly Men of Color Against AIDS. He is currently health educator for young gay and bisexual people at the Los Angeles Lesbian Gay Community Center.
- AIRS received a Community Award for housing homeless youth and assisting youth with life enhancement skills.
